Cancelling Sky Mobile contract but can I keep paying the handset off?

I wonder if anyone can please help.

My company want to pay for my mobile phone bill (as taking more work calls due to WFH) but to do this I would have to leave Sky and go with their provider - easy enough via PAC etc and they would pay any charges (anyone know what they are?) left on my contract.

I have a handset with Sky that I pay £38 a month for - would I still be able to pay for the handset monthly as I dont want to give that up or would I have to send that back? Ive had the handset since last April.

Any advice will be appreciated.

If you have had the sim for 12 months or more then you can transfer the number to a different network if you want.

Regarding the phone you would need to call Sky on 150 as they might not let you cancel and if they do they will ask you to pay the contract off in one go.

Ive been with Sky mobile about 6 years so had the sim for a while. My latest SIM contract started in April 2025

Ill ring them re the handset - i wouldve thought it would be OK to pay off monthly as you can buy phones from Sky without taking their SIMS. Whenever Ive ordered a new handset they never ask - what number is this going to be linked with. But I guess best way to find out is ring and ask.

You might want to ask them about the sim as well as you would be locked into a 12 month contract with that. For both thete is nothing from stopping you changing your payments details to your companies details if you want.

My company will only pay my bill if I join their network as they like to keep the bills all in once place.

Just rang them.

Its fine to cancel SIM contract - would cost me £36.42 - and its also fine to carrying on paying the handset seprately as they are not linked with your SIMS.
