Canary Islands data use

I'm travelling to the Canary Islands soon and want to use data for maps, WhatsApp mainly

I have enough data saved in my 'piggy bank' as well as unused data for the month

can I just access it as normal?

Is there a cost I have to pay?

Many thanks

M

Hi @MC183  it will cost you £2 for each 24 hours use of your home network and piggybank. There is also a 25 Gig roaming limit now, after which you would need to pay for extra data. Calls to local numbers are charged at international rates and not included in the £2 daily charge.

@MC183

As @63johnw has mentioned there is now a fair usage policy. Roaming using Roaming Passport Plus is now limited to 25GB per billing period then it's £2.50per GB.

From Skys own website...

When you roam using our Roaming Passport Plus, we consider that up to 25GB per billing period is a reasonable amount of data to use. If you exceed this amount, we'll assume that you're no longer using data in the way expected of a reasonable customer for periodic travel.

Would suggest using a maps app such as Maps.Me where you download the maps before you leave, then you don't need to use data to access them.
