Can I use Sky mobile in Bali?

I'm off to Bali. Looks like Sky mobile covers 'Indonesia' does this include Bali?

Hi @BetsyN  Bali is part of Indonesia so your phone should work there but as it's in the rest of the world charge band it will be very expensive to use there.

@BetsyN

Mobile phones 'work' pretty much globally as long as there's signal.  The critical point is they are cripplingly expensive to actually use, particularly for cellular data, in most locations apart from those (almost all in Europe) where a flat daily fee allows access to a UK call/text/data bundle.

In the vast majority of countries it's quite possible to run up hundreds of pounds in data billing between the airport and the hotel.

For reference, £2 per day 'roaming' only applies to the EU/EEA plus the countries listed in bold below.

When travelling to a rest of the world destination it's important to make sure data and roaming are turned off in your phone settings before leaving the UK @BetsyN  as once you land your phone will connect to a local network and as @TimmyBGood  says you can incur very high charges very quickly. Once I arrive at my hotel I then turn WiFi on and connect to the hotel WiFi and use that.
