Call forwarding
Around 6 months ago both my phone and my wife's sort of glitches, then we both noticed the settings in call forwarding changed.
Always forward-a number ending in 2000
Forward when busy- a number ending in 2000.
Forward when unanswered- the same number.
Forward when unreachable- the same number.
Under voicemail it says -service provider.
I would have thought it would be Sky, since we ,or rather my wife has been a customer for around 11 years ,at upwards of £80 a month for sky TV, sky sims and a galaxy tab.
Voicemail number is set with the same number ending in 2000.
We both requested years ago to switch off our voicemails, so why did these settings suddenly change?
We are finding this concerning, especially when if we don't answer our phone , then who is on the number in our settings?
I looked it up in who called me, and apparently it has been searched nearly 26 thousand times and marked as a scam sky number.
I called sky, but the engineer couldn't even get rid of it, nor can it be disabled or changed/updated.
Does anyone know what is going on?
Since we have both seen a rise in potential scam/fraud calls, texts messages and emails.
We both have a good malware/antivirus app, but we would like to get to the bottom of this.

Re: Call forwarding
I'm having the same problem, which Sky have been unable to resolve so far.
However, I did clarify that the number ending 2000 (the forum won't let you post the full number) is not a scam number and is in fact Sky's Voicemail number. If you were to dial it from your mobile it would bring up your voicemail service. It is the same as dialling the short key version of 759.
The issue seems to be that you can't disable the service

Re: Call forwarding
As you say you can't disable voicemail but you can set it so people can not leave you messages:
On your phone:
Dial 759.
Press 3.
Press 5.
Press 1.

Re: Call forwarding
Thank you LawRh
For taking the time to answer 😊.
I actually asked sky if they could switch both of our voicemails off from their end so no one is able to leave a message, but the little message " call forwarding active " still appears which seems bizarre.
But at least I don't have to listen to empty voicemails.
Thank you again and have a lovely weekend
