Being sent a link over live chat

I've started a live chat with sky, through the website, I've logged in as prompted to do so. When I am referred to an expert it says 'Mohammed' will help me, well in "Mohammed's" first message, he says his name is Ifran, which has confused me but I continue thinking nothing more of it. Then immediately after that I am sent a link to "verify" myself that takes me off sky, I immediately say I am uncomfortable with that and I am told that's what I have to do. I've been on live chat upwards of 25 times and never once had to send a link. Then I receive "It might be because you verify yoruself with the automated system due to which no one asked you but this the details is not verified by system so we need to do security" which I say I'm sorry but that message doesn't make sense, and now they won't proceed unless I click this link. I am signed in with sky, and have sent my full name and address, surely that's all the verification needed?

No idea about this but if you issue isn't something us fellow customers can help you then it is probably best that you call instead.
