Additional storage for new device
Hi there,
I purchased a new iPhone 16plus from you about 5 weeks ago and am unable to set it up as the storage on my old phone is greater than the storage on the new one. Can I add more storage to the new device to be able to set it up?

Re: Additional storage for new device
@Dani1988 You cannot physically add storage to any iPhone without returning it and buying one with more storage. You either have to buy extra iCloud storage or use an external storage device(such as a USB memory stick or SD card with a reader).

Re: Additional storage for new device
You can't as you are beyond the 31 days cooling off period when you could have changed your mind.

Re: Additional storage for new device
@Dani1988 If you've had the phone for 5 weeks then you are past the cooling-off period(30 days), if you want to return it now you will incur substantial charges as you will have to settle the credit agreement in full, you could call Sky(dial 150 from your mobile) and see if it's possible to perform a swap this early into your contract but be aware that the value of your phone will have dropped and probably won't cover the outstanding credit balance.

Re: Additional storage for new device
Do k so when you talk about getting external storage etc do you mean to transfer photos onto for example and therefore reduce the capacity on my current phone? i am a childminder so have loads of photos on my current device which is taking up the majority of my storage. So if I put them only an external device will the transfer work and allow me to keep my number and contacts etc?

You can either download them to another storage device, e.g. a PC or pay Apple to increase your cloud storage.

In those particular circumstances, perhaps be mindful of the potential security implications of moving images outside Apple infrastructure.
