Adding a New Sim to my Account - Do I need a data plan?

I currently have an account and sim with a data plan for myself.  I intend on getting a new sim and number for my daughter to use on a dumb phone.  So I do not require another data plan.  I see that I can select that option in the store but I am wondering will she still get the free calls and texts as there is no monthly fee for this option?

Every SIM has to have a dataplan with a monthly plan.  All dataplans are inclusive calls (there are some charged exceptions such as 08 numbers) and texts.

(Sky sometimes offer 100MB for an initial 12 months of £0pm)

You would need sufficient data in your piggybank as 100MB will likely last minutes.
