Account Closure / Refund
I recently cancelled my Sky Mobile contract but have a small credit balance (£4.45). How do I get this balance refunded and the account closed down ?

Re: Account Closure / Refund
@Buckstone
Refunds after cancelling should take about 6 weeks from your last day of connection but posts suggest it’s taking longer.
We can help get it refunded within 3-5 working days via the Community Messaging Team on here if you wish. Let us know on this thread if you want to do that.
If however your payment method has been cancelled Sky will either have to reinstate your payment method or manually raise a cheque via a back office team and post it to you so that will take much longer.
Before we can escalate it to Sky please confirm in your reply that it’s currently showing as a credit on your Sky account and if the payment method is still active.

Re: Account Closure / Refund
I would agree that it's taking longer than the 6 weeks suggested. The amount isn't big, so it's not a concern, but I want the account closed asap.
It's showing as a credit on the last bill and the payment method is still in place.
However, the message on the bill suggests that the credit will be used to offset future bills, rather than.be refunded. As I won't have any future bills, that's not a lot of use to me.

Re: Account Closure / Refund
That's the normal wording. I presume you've also cancelled the SIM card?
Do you want it escalating, the alternatives being you wait or you call Sky?

Re: Account Closure / Refund
At least I now know that it's probably following the normal process, even if Sky's communication isn't the clearest.
The Sim card was cancelled over 6 weeks ago, so I'll leave it for a week or two to see if the account gets closed.
Assuming it doesn't, a call to Sky direct should be enough to get it done.
Thanks for outlining the process for me 👍
