Accidentally added old sim as eSIM!

I just got my new phone (iPhone 17 pro). I am changing network providers from Vodafone to sky and so requested a PAC code from Vodafone. I gave this to sky when activating my new sim, and told them I want to keep my number. My issue is that when setting up my new phone it asked it I wanted to keep my number,  to which I said yes, but it has now added my old sim as an eSIM to my new phone. It then asked me to name one number "primary" and the other "secondary", so I now essentially have 2 phone lines on the one phone!!
Will this effect my number being transferred over? Do I have to do anything? Will the Vodafone sim just stop working and my number change on my new sky sim?! Any help would be much appreciated!

@MrsB85

Are you using a physical sim in your new phone, if so are you can see the temporary number that came with it then when the number transfers it should change this one to the one you are moving across from Vodafone.

Yes I am using a physical sim in my new phone, so I will keep my fingers crossed that it all sorts itself out once my number transfers over. Thank you so much for your reply😊
