Hi @Meefster

Try Channel 857

This should be F1 HD

Re: sky sports f1 recordings in sd

thanks, but i already looked atbthat and thatbchannel is uhd on my box (which i dont have a sub for).

i took a look on scheduled recordings and it listed the channel as Sky F1 so i've cancelled that and set a new one on Sky F1 HD so hopefully that will work for tomorrow.  no idea why the original recording was set on a non-HD channel that  i can't seem to find.

Re: sky sports f1 recordings in sd

I have the UHD sub but the channel set-up on my box is:

  • UHD = 406 (use favourites so #6)
  • HD  =   857
  • SD  =   864

I'd be trying both a reboot & software update on the box to see if it jiggles things back in to place.

Rebooting the Sky Q main box:

Unplug from the wall for at least 30 seconds.

Now plug back in the Sky Q box and follow the on-screen instructions. This can take up to 5 minutes, and hopefully, you're back up and running.

Updating the Sky Q boxes:

Go to Settings, then System Info, and highlight Software version.
Choose Setup and then select Software download.
Your box will start to download the latest software. This can take up to 10 minutes.
To check the status of the software download, go to Settings, then System info, and highlight Software version.
When it says "Software update successful" press the Standby button on your remote.
When your box restarts, follow the on-screen messages. You'll then be on the latest software version.

Good luck.

Re: sky sports f1 recordings in sd

I had a similar problem.

What I have found was, if I use the Sky+ app "Sports" channel list to remotely record "Sky Sports F1" (channel 406), it records it in SD.

If however, I look under the "HD" channel list, you can select the "Sky Sports F1 HD" (channel 864) to record it and it does record it in HD.

@Meefster

As stated above by @Robert.Graham if you are using the Sky Go app to set these recordings then to make sure they are in HD you will have to set them on channel 864 which on the app is F1 HD, as channel 406 is the SD one. There are other sports channels that are reversed as well so the key is to look at the channel name when setting a recording as it will show if it is HD or not.
