SkyQ users using Sky GO having to use Sky+ App to set their Region

Hello,

I ran into issues with my Sky GO yesterday, which was resolved by @caesarome - many thanks. The solution was to use the Sky+ App to ensure my region was correctly set...

... given it appears that Sky Q is in 3.6 million homes and there is no SkyQ App - only Sky GO - why do their SkyQ customers have to rely/download the old Sky+ App to set their region?! Surely the setting of the Region should be available in the SkyGO App?

SkyGO is lacking in so many ways compared to the old and brilliant Sky+ App.

thanks

James

@JamSpring

I guess the point is region should be generated by subscription address and there's no need for a customer to set it manually.

Incidentally Q is in more like 7 million households: it's over 2/3 of the satellite user base.

It is not just Sky Q customers as I am a Sky+ box customer and if I want to change my region I have to do the same and use the Sky+ app.

Why the region cannot be changed on the Sky+ or SkyQ boxes themselves instead of having to use the App is beyond me.

We very much miss our Sky+ box, we only went to SkyQ because our Sky+ box was faulty - and our personal view is, whilst Sky Q is, we are told 'better', we should have stayed with our Sky+ box as it was for us, the best.

Re: SkyQ users using Sky GO having to use Sky+ App to set their Region

@TimmyBGood  - yes, that would be the best approach, no idea why Sky hasn't sorted this out...

SkyQ... 7 million households, 2/3 of their customer base - you'd think Sky would do better... but as is most likely, the days of dish installations are numbered and Sky eventually moves over to streaming only, remote record will no longer be required.

SkyQ has many 'quirks', so will consider our options when our renewal comes up in the not so distant future.
