Hi,
Currently have full UHD Sky Stream pack & Fibre.
SkyGo is now offered for free & included with my subscription package & is available on a long list of compatible devices. From mobile, consoles, laptops & Mac. For FREE.
As the SkyGo service is now part of my subscription package, for no extra fee. Why is it only usable for users on AppleTV devices that pay for an extra multiroom fee, yet for all other devices the service is free to use?
I know Sky are always looking to improve features. So just wondering if this is this just an oversight, with a new update adding compatibility of the free use to Apple TV arriving soon?
If this isn't in the planned roadmap, can it be forwarded to be added to a feature request for updating please.
Find it unfair that just because I wish to use on a certain device, I'd have to pay extra for an unneeded multroom fee. For a service that is already included as part of my package & available on multiple other devices for free.
Apple TV users for SkyGo being penalised for no reason.
Thanks for reading.

Sky Go has always been a free additional service for Sky TV customers on devices likes Macs and PCs, phones and tablets but for Apple TV and Gaming consoles an extra subscription is required I would presume do to the fact these devices can be used as an additional TV and there for would bypass the usual need for an extra subscription for a Sky Q mini or an additional streaming box.

Re: SkyGo is now FREE for all devices except AppleTV.
Hi,
Forgive me but I'm not quite understanding your theory of could be an "additional tv" that would negate the need for additional boxes.
Having the same service outputting from a PC, Mac or Mobile to a TV also removes any need for an additional Q or Stream box. Yet, for these devices there's no extra fee.
Can understand an extra fee for say added features or higher performance in resolution. However, offering a service for free on multiple devices & locking the service behind a paywall just for AppleTV users doesn't make sense.
Would make sense if it was a feature for main sky premium accounts, as a perk. To just single out Apple TV users & lock access behind a multi room subscription, makes the "feature" of offering & promoting this service as a free service redundant. Which also impacts the entire concept of a subscription to SkyStream completely. Simply due to the fact that a SkyNow subscription offers everything & on more devices, at a far lesser rate than the parent subscription directly offers.
Ideally & logically, the parent subscription should/would offer perks for access to content without having to fleece for unneeded multi room subscriptions for an App/service use on all & any device.
Instead, the logic here by Sky is to devalue the parent subscription & make a NowTV subscription more compatible across more devices & at a lower rate.
Dont really wish to cancel Stream account for a Now account. As I really like the simplicity of SkyGo for access to just Sky content. However, for greater compatibility it maybe the only credible option.
Hopefully the powers that be can see how mundane this is & alter direction. (Probably wishful thinking on my part).

Almost certainly not: the 'powers that be' are now the upper echelons of the Comcast Corporation, and Go is a legacy software product dating back to when Sky was an independent British company.
Incidentally, Go on smartphone and tablet is blocked from both HDMI output and screen mirroring: I suspect Sky would have liked to do the same with desktop and laptop computer but that's not actually possible on either Windows or OSX.
