Not so much an issue, but a possible solution for those in the same scenario.
I have experienced poor playback from Sky Sports using the Sky Go app on Chromebook.
My Chrome browser settings are synced across devices, and I have an ad-blocker in the form of Malwarebytes Browser Guard.
I disabled this extension on my desktop browser, and playback on my Chromebook improved after a few seconds. Enabled the extension again and the judder issue returned after a few seconds, so it seems that this extension was interfering with playback.
So, if you're experiencing the same issue, it might be worth disabling extensions and see how that goes.
