Sky Go

Sky Go was working perfectly on my laptop until a few days ago. Now it stops on start-up, showing "Downloading Update" indefinitely. The laptop is a HP 14s-dq1505sa running Windows 11 and Sophos Home Premium protection.  I have tried uninstalling and installing using "SkyGoInstaller" originally downloaded in 2023, and again using "SkyGoInstaller" downloaded yesterday (27/9/2025).  Bothe gave exactly the same result.

Thanks for the suggestion. I followed the instructions precisely but when I reinstalled, I got exactly the same result: "Downloading Update" indefinitely.

What happens if you disable Sophos Home Premium protection whilist trying to do this ?

I tried disabling Sophos before. Now I've tried again after the recommended full uninstall. Result is exactly the same - reinstalled SkyGo app stalls on "Downloading Update".

Did you try leaving it turned off while the downloading update process started ?

Yes - Sophia remained disabled until it became clear SkyGo's "Downloading Updates" was going nowhere again and I gave up.
