Sky Go won't download updates or play videos

I've got Sky Go installed on an Intel Mac running MacOS 14.5 Sonoma.  If I start the app while connected to the internet it says it's downloading an update and never actually downloads anything.  I can get into the app by turning off my internet and running the app, but then if I try to play a video it gives error code 0000.  I've tried reinstalling multiple times and moving the app from the User Applications folder to the global Applications folder, but always end up with the same result.  Has anyone got any ideas that I could try?

Thanks, but it's definitely not that!  I've got an Intel Mac, so no need for Rosetta
