Sky Go - Downloading Update
I have been having this problem for two weeks since first trying to resolve it. I have tried everything mentioned in this and other threads to no avail. Starting the app with wifi off brings up a screen with a try again button which does not respond. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Sky Go at least five times. I have switched off firewall, deleted registry entries, restarted PC a million times and it remains the same. As soon as the Sky Go app is started it brings up a blue screen saying Downloading update which remains there forever.
Yesterday I followed the advice to contact Sky technical support. After over an hour on the phone (rebooting, reinstalling etc.) I was advised to contact the device manufacturer for a solution as it was not the Sky Go app causing the problem.
I am now very disappointed with Sky.

I agree so long winded to get resolved and the price goes up and up for a lot of repeats too so far mine is ok

Can anyone please tell me what is the latest version of the Windows Sky Go app? I have 25.3.3 on my Windows 11 PC at home which worls fine. I have a Windows 10 PC in my caravan which has been stuck "Downloading update" for more than a month now so I cannot use it. It is also showing version 25.3.3 in the App list so what is it trying to update to??? I have rebooted, reinstalled, tried switching wi-fi on and off, minimised to taskbar for 60 seconds and every other remedy suggested here but all to no avail. When I spoke to Sky support it was suggested after about an hour on the phone that I should contact my device manufacturer as the app was fine! I don't think so....

For anyone else experiencing the blue screen saying "Downloading update" I have finally made a breakthrough which has twice resolved it now. Thanks to @dayLondon for the suggestion in the first place.
I had not been able to use Sky Go for more than 2 months when a last desperate attempt seemed to fix it. Close the Sky Go app with the Downloading update message and go to PC settings. Disconnect from any current wi-fi connection and connect to a mobile phone wi-fi hotspot. The mobile can be on the same wi-fi network, it doesn't seem to matter. Restart Sky Go and it should start normally after checking foor updates as usual. Once it has started you can close it, reconnect to the original wi-fi connection and it should be ok.
This has worked twice for me now although I cannot promise it will work for everyone.

App still doesn't update on Windows 11 pc. Been that way for over 4 weeks.

Sorry to hear that. I haven't had a problem on my Windows 11 PC at home, just the Windows 10 PC in my caravan. Obviously the workaround doesn't work for everyone then.

This is happening now for windows i have uninstall edit and reinstalled also deleted the files in my personal profile logs etc and still the same

Discovered a problem and solution. The solution is to turn off your VPN. As soon as I did that, the update downloaded and installed pretty quickly. I turned on the VPN and Sky Go loaded as normal. All now OK, so hope that helped.
