When away from home, previously I successfully used the Sky+ app on my iPad to set my Sky Q box to make recordings to watch when I returned. Since Sky+ was discontinued, I have tried to do the same thing with the Sky Go app. The app appears to accept the request, but when I get home the recordings were not made. I tested the procedure at home and that doesn't work either.
why is my Sky Q box not accepting these remote recording requests? Help!

I think I have resolved this problem. At least, I can now set my Sky Q box to record from the Sky Go app on my iPad when I am at home. I have to try later from a remote location. What I discovered was that, looking in the Sky Go settings/ manage your device, the viewing card number was wrong. I guess I had set "keep me signed" in for the app some years ago and it stored my old viewing card number. I signed out and in again and it updated the viewing card number correctly and I test-set a few recordings on my iPad. They set correctly in the Q box within 10 seconds.

Although the Sky+ app was discontinued a while back it is still possible to use it to set recordings as long as you have not removed it from your Apple account you can use the search to find content to set a recording.
Having said that you should also be able to use the Sky Go app so are you logged into it with the same ID that you used with the Sky+ app ?
