1, From your desktop, select Go from the top toolbar

2, Press and hold the Option key on your keyboard **This is really important - it allows you to access folders on your Mac's Hard Drive rather than your user folder**

3, Select Library

4, Open the Application Support folder

5, Find the Sky Go folder

6, Move everything IN the Sky Go folder to your trash. **Don't take the enclosing folder, just its contents** - anecdotally, incase it helps somone identify the contents, the first folder/file in this folder for me is called "blob_storage" and the last is "WebStorage"

7, No need to empty your trash bin, just restart your Mac

When you next open Sky Go you should be given the option to select cookies and then log in.

Re: Sky Go error 001

New MacBook Pro set up with Migration Assistant, error 001 on every launch.
Reinstalls and cache clearing did nothing. I ran Claude Code on the Mac and it
found the cause and fixed it.

It is not a connection problem. Sky Go is already online when it shows 001, it
has loaded your channel list in the background. It crashes on step 24 of its 25
step startup, on one corrupt file for in-app adverts, and then sits on the
loading screen.

Fix, no Terminal needed.

1. Quit Sky Go with Cmd-Q and check it has gone from the Dock. It rewrites its
files as it closes, so this bit matters.
2. Finder, Go menu, hold Option, click Library.
3. Open Application Support, then Sky Go.
4. Drag qgd-redux-inAppMessages.json to your Desktop.
5. Open Sky Go. Cookie prompt and sign-in came straight up for me.

If nothing changes, move everything inside that Sky Go folder to the Bin
instead, leaving the folder. Quit the app first either way. That is the step
people miss, me included.

To confirm it first, quit Sky Go and run this in Terminal.
open -a "Sky Go" --stderr /tmp/skygo.err --args --enable-logging=stderr
Wait 30 seconds, then grep "Failed at Step" /tmp/skygo.err
Step 24/25 INAPP_MES means it is this.

Terminal-based fix:
osascript -e 'quit app "Sky Go"' 2>/dev/null; sleep 3
pkill -9 -if "Sky Go"; sleep 3
mv "$HOME/Library/Application Support/Sky Go/qgd-redux-inAppMessages.json" ~/Desktop/ open -a "Sky Go"

The pkill -9 is deliberate. A clean quit lets Sky Go write its state back out, which can restore the bad file before you delete it.

Fallback if that doesn't fix it, the folder version with a backup rather than straight deletion:

osascript -e 'quit app "Sky Go"' 2>/dev/null; sleep 3
pkill -9 -if "Sky Go"; sleep 3
mkdir -p ~/Desktop/SkyGo-backup
mv "$HOME/Library/Application Support/Sky Go/"* ~/Desktop/SkyGo-backup/ open -a "Sky Go"

To undo either one, quit the app the same way and move the files back.
