Sky Go - Not fit for purpose

Genuinely thinking of cancelling my whole Sky package  due to this awful app.

To complete fresh installs of Windows 11 on a high powered gaming laptop.  Install Sky Go and opens fine, then run a channel and the video interface becomes completely unresponsive.  The video & audio play fine but you cannot click on the interface, occasionally I can adjust the volume but it has an approx 30 second delay.  If I go full screen the menu bar at the bottom ghosts and stays on screen.  Exiting a channel to play something else the whole Sky Go interface becomes unusable & slow.

Tried the beta release but no different.  Multiple different Nvidia & Intel driver versions installed, still the same. Considering how much I pay Sky every month, not to be able to use of the many services I pay for is shockingly bad service from Sky

Re: Sky Go - Not fit for purpose

I've had this problem too and reported it more than once but with no response. I tried emailing the apps team at apps@sky.uk and was advised to consult the trouble-shooting guide.

The only way to resolve it is to clean-install 23H2 first, and then update that to 24H2 or wait for Microsoft Update to do that,

The problem appears to be related to encryption.  If you start Skygo there's no problem with viewing any of the BBC channels - BBC1-4. You can switch back and forth and everything works fine. But once you go to a diiferent channel - even ITV1 - Skygo immediately becomes very unresponsive, and this remains even when you go back to the guide.

Re: Sky Go - Not fit for purpose

its now late janurary and the app is still running slow, half the screen gets darkerned with the "loading wheel" despite content being played, how hard is it to make an app that just "works"

This is still a problem. Sky Go ui is completely unresponsive while watching channels such as F1. Needs to be escalated...
