Sky Go - Hotel TV

Hi,

I can't seem to find an answer, hope this nice community can help!

I have Sky Q, multi-room (in house, main plus a mini box)

We have Sky Go on iPad when travelling (holidays mainly in hotels or air bnb) but as a family we are struggling to be able to watch a movie, or TNT sports etc on a small device (smaller than A4 screen) I know about the issues of mirroring and casting of sky on tv but I have been told that you are able to watch sky go in a hotel using the Apple TV box, with the sky go app downloaded on it, is this true? Can someone walk me through this if so? Our kids have poor eyesight and need to be at least 1.5 metres from the screen so it's really hard for them to see anything on an iPad when we are away and it would help immensely if we can watch a movie together on the hotel tv!! Thank you

In theory that should work: using Go on an Apple TV box requires either Multiscreen, Whole Home or 'Extra' add-ons for the Sky television account.

Alternatively a Windows or OSX laptop with an HDMI port can do the same thing without the need for a subscription supplement.

You would need to use Sky Go on the Apple TV box at your home address at least once before travelling with it, and note that UK subscribers can only do so within the UK.
