Re: Sky Go Error
Thank you for the for the detailed work around. Although a bit of a ball ache, I followed your instructions on my laptop and I now have SkyGo working again.

Re: Sky Go Error
@GD1 is a super user and helps in many forums I have come across him or her before and they are community members that take on the role to help while sky technical support get round to it be thankful that we have someone there to help with our problems without them it would take a lot longer to get help thank you @GD1
I am being patient and waiting its not ideal my daughter watches while the TV is in use but Microsoft have updated the operating system.
Which then in turn means Sky are going to have to reprogram the app to allow it to work on our end good things come to those who wait and it isn't always and easy task when the CVEs get posted the tech companies have to run around decompiling and re coding the apps to work alongside the updates its hard I get it but they will be working on it I'm sure 😊

Re: Sky Go Error
@Quantumninja - that's nothing, I've lost Windows 11 ..and I use my laptop for my bedridden mother.
,Indeed, its not the impatience per se, its the:
1) due to the incorrect information and repeated suggestion that I contact Microsoft (which led to this compounded
2) lack of taking responsibility by the Sky Team to come back or give time scales....when passing between their sections.
Sky (Community) Employees are available there's positive news....but hide in the shadows, when there's negative.
- It's not @GD1 that I'm angry with and I apologise for any offense, it's the below par service from a company that I'm paying £131 a month to.

Re: Sky Go Error
@Amazin+Port Can I refer you to the post marked as Answer, you will see Sky are aware and that is the latest update, I doubt this is a quick fix though.

Re: Sky Go Error
@Quantumninja ....further to your last message. If, when I chatted, and spoke on the phone (and I spoke to 3 employees and I was telling them it was an upgrade issue) one of them said 'I'LL CHECK WITH MICROSOFT AND DEAL WITH IT' I'd of been satisfied.....they didn't, it's as if the Technical Team are trying to first of all find patching individual issues rather than dealing with the route cause and working with their partner agents.
This isn't the first issue - last years Charity Shield (on BT Sports) was another instance....I couldnt get it (along with a number of others) and was told to contact BT Sports..... NO, THATS A SKY ISSUE....take some responsibility.

Re: Sky Go Error
@GD1 .....again that's my problem. If the Sky Technician /Team admitted that (I was 2 days speaking to them)....THEN FINE. I was told to contact Microsoft (though I told them I'd already done that and they said Sky need to deal with it)...... the lack of SKY Technical staff in taking responsibility (and communicating / admitting there was a problem.....and letting their customers know they were working IS MY PROBLEM)....hence the comment 'a penny short and a day too late'.

Re: Sky Go Error
So I use the complaint form, you suggested, I take half an hour writing out my complaint in full .....only for it to say, cannot submit.
This is why Sky Employees should be involved.....rather than yourself giving poor advice....its about taking responsibility.
I've now had to put in Poor Feedback about a Complaint ... Sky don't want to know about problems.

Re: Sky Go Error
They were right insofar as this isn't a Sky problem, it's a Microsoft problem so there is no point in having a go at Sky, unless Microsoft get their finger out and fix the issue, Sky programmers are going to have to work out what is causing the problem that works for all the 1000s of different configurations of PC's.
Have patience and let them get on with finding a solution.

Re: Sky Go Error
This isn't a case of a Sky Go app update, it was a case of Microsoft mucking something up with their update causing a error in the Sky Go app out with Sky's control.
It's a case of Microsoft **bleep** it so they fix it 😉

Re: Sky Go Error
Great that the team is investigating and hopefully the solution will not take too long.
Clealry it is very frustrating as a user that access is not available, especially given the monthly cost of sky is not cheap.
I look forward to urgent progress.
Thanks
Kind regards

Re: Sky Go Error
@senec Unfortunatley that will be what Microsoft support advisers will say, however I suspect the Sky Go Development Team will no doubt have a specific route into the Microsoft Development Teams to allow them to work with MS to resolve the current Sky Go app launch failing.
Which will take time.
