Re: Sky Go Error

I tried a repair install which ran right through then failed and rolled back. I can live without Sky Go until Sky and/or MS sort it out.

@Bri68

Have you tried removing the optional update that has caused this:

Re: Sky Go Error

I had the same error.

My solution was simple.

Re-download the app then reinstall.

Sky go in my PC is working fine.

Re: Sky Go Error

Warning ⚠️....Do not contact M$ directly on this matter. I did, they tried to uninstall the update (failed), tried to reset laptop to a date prior to the upgrade ......WIPED WINDOWS.

Then when trying to download another copy of Windows 11......IT HAS CORRUPTED/drained my data space.

I am having to take laptop to a 'Specialist' (at my own cost)

I'll update on anything they find in relation to this KB5121767....as M$ refuse to answer.

Re: Sky Go Error

There have now been over 150 posts here and I think new users are having an issue trawling through these to find the workaround.  I've consolidated the workaround in this post, so perhaps a link to this could placed in the answer post?

The problrem arises due the MS fix KB5121767 (level 36300.8894) released on Saturday 18th July. On Monday 20th July preview update KN5101684 (level 26200.8968) was released that included Saturday's fix.  The workaround is to remove these fixes and get back to the level of the last monthly patch level 26200.8853.

Right-click on the  Windows start button, select copy and enter winver.  If this shows your build level as 8894 proceed as follows.

1. Go to settings -> Windows Update and pause updates till August 11th (next patch Tuesday)..

2. Click on "update hisory", scroll to the bottom of the page and click on "uninstall updates"

3. Select KB5121767 and press enter. The system will go quiet for a few minutes then will ask you to restart.

4. On completion check winver again to confirm you are now on level 26200.8853.

5. Skygo should now work but you might need to re-install it.

If winver shows you are on level 26200.8968, then run the process above but uninstall KB5101684.  If this first brings you back to 26200.8894 then repeat the process and uninstall KB5121767..

If you have either of these levels installed, and you are not offered these to uninstall, it's likely a disk clean-up has been run. Now the only way back is to do a refresh install of Windows 11.  This procedure is documented in post 75 of this topic. Do not run the "repair install" in Windows Update as this will simply put you back to where you are now, ie will not remove the offending fixes.

Re: Sky Go Error

@Samraj

I've just put together a post explaining clearly how to regress the MS fixes, so that everyone who wants to uninstall them can do so without having to trawl through 150+ posts can do so easily.  But the post was immediately deleted by the forum filters. In fact 3 of my last 4 posts trying to help people have also been deleted.  We are not helping ourselves.  Please can the post I wrote about 11.30 on Sunday be restored.

Re: Sky Go Error

@Amazin+Port I have joined you on the complaints if enough go in might get some movement on it I have tried everything and the wife hogs the tv so Sky go is the next best thing Minus BBC 1 which annoys death out of me.

But peeps if we can all do this hopefully it will rise in the ranks of importance.
