Re: Sky Go Error

Same issue, first with a brand new laptop, then, today, on my old laptop on which Sky Go was working a couple of days ago. I've tried all the suggested fixes I can find, including uninstalling the latest Windows 11 update, (KB5121767) (26200.8894), with no success. Do we know if this has gone back to Microsoft?

Re: Sky Go Error

Further update - I uninstalled KB5121767 on my old Lenovo laptop then uninstalled and reinstalled Sky Go and it works! However, I then tried to do the same on my new ASUS laptop and the uninstall of KB5121767 failed with error 0x800F0825. I'm now looking at that!

Re: Sky Go Error

Interesting, ive a HP laptop, I looked up your suggestion and Windows appears to have a problem with the upgrade KB5121767 and it does confirm that the update MAY well be need only for certain DELL LAPTOPS. https://www.windowslatest.com/2026/07/19/windows-11-kb5121767-released-to-fix-shutdowns-overheating-...

My problem is that mine isnt allowing me to uninstall the PC Upgrade.

Im still waiting for a phone call from Sky, I wonder if others can try:

  1. Select Start  Settings  Windows Update .

  2. Under More options, select Update history

  3. Under Related settings, select Uninstall updates.

  4. From the list, select update you want to remove, and then select Uninstall.

To see whether they have the prmission to install.

Good Luck All

Re: Sky Go Error

This update was only for specific Dell computers, but it looks to have installed on many others.

My HP, Asus, Acer and Alienware computers have all installed it and won't allow an uninstall

System restore doesn't work for it, neither does SFC.

@senec microcat36

Yep, that's exactly what im getting. Ive contacted Microsoft, because as with yourself im unable to uninstall kb5121767, they deny responsibility despite me saying it's all over the internet that they've made a mistake (deny culpability). They claim that Sky would have the technical ability to fix the 'error'

@senec

I'm awaiting Sky's phone call, i'll keep you informed.

I too was getting the error

Unistalling 2026-07 Preview Update (KB5101684) (26200.8968) fixed the issue iwth SkyGo for me after unistalling the update and restarting PC.

Re: Sky Go Error

Don't have it so can't uninstall it.

Re: Sky Go Error

Uninstalling KB5101684 fixes it. I've also paused updates for a couple of weeks to stop it coming on again.
