For those still struggling, ensuring Rosetta is installed is the solution. This is software that allows Intel Mac applications to work on Silicon Apple devices. To manually install it, do the following:

I have been having similar issues, i have followed the Rosetta instructions and the download and install have completed successfully and the Icon appears for me to open Sky Go, but when i click it it almost immediately opens a problem report for Sky Go. I've had a look through the error log but have no idea what the problem is or how to fix, any ideas?

Looks like there is an update to the Sky go app, there is another thread on hear that covers it, but basically you need to completely delete the app, including emptying the Bin, and then download and install the app. this has just worked for me.

Attempted the uninstallation method mentioned, cleared my cookies for installation, and downloaded rosetta, nothing is working at all. Attempted to call sky and was passed from pillar to post with no one willing to help. Everytime i install through the installer it opens the app, then says error code 001 - we are having problems connecting to you. Please try again. My internet is connected, my other devices work, but not my macbook pro. Have downloaded all of the software updates.

in addition i can not find the downloaded sky go file anywhere in my downloads, despite downloading and installing.

Have you used 'Finder' at the top left of the screen when on a blank desktop, or the smiley face icon on the toolbar at the bottom left to search for anything that says Sky or Sky Go, delete them and then empty the Bin before downloading the Mac install from the Sky website?

i have tried every step available and have purged any and all skygo files from my laptop and still am unable to connect through to the actual app... have attempted to call in for help and was passed around and repeatedly told I was connected to the wrong department, and multiple times after being passed around my call hung, very frustrating. Please help me resolve this as soon as possible!

For anyone still having issues, it'd be interesting to know whether you used the migration assistant to transfer your Apple ID accross? I certainly did, and I have a feeling that's causing the issue.
I created a test account on my M2 MacBook, *WITHOUT* using my Apple ID as part of the setup, opened SkyGo (which was saved in the machine's Apps folder rather than my own account's apps folder) on the test account. It let me log in, and has worked without a hitch. It's not an ideal situation to have to switch user accounts on the Mac, but at least I know I can watch shows when I travel.
Next port of call will be to fire up the old MacBook, remove SkyGo on there and see if my apple ID recognises that there's been a change. I'm also working with Apple to find out if there's a anything that can be done to remedy it, assuming this is the issue.
Worth a shot at least!

A follow up having spoken to Apple's Senior Support, they found me a proper fix.
For anyone still seeing this issue - please try the following:
1, From your desktop, select Go from the top toolbar
2, Press and hold the Option key on your keyboard **This is really important - it allows you to access folders on your Mac's Hard Drive rather than your user folder**
3, Select Library
4, Open the Application Support folder
5, Find the Sky Go folder
6, Move everything IN the Sky Go folder to your trash. **Don't take the enclosing folder, just its contents** - anecdotally, incase it helps somone identify the contents, the first folder/file in this folder for me is called "blob_storage" and the last is "WebStorage"
7, No need to empty your trash bin, just restart your Mac
When you next open Sky Go you should be given the option to select cookies and then log in.
Other advice I've found suggests searching for ~/Library folders - it may be a setting on my Mac or an update, but this opens up the Library folder within my user account, not the Hard Drive.
Hope this save someone months of frustration.

This worked, I can't believe it, so simple! Thank you for the advice

I've posted a full fix for your admin account on another couple of threads on here, to save you from having to switch between accounts.
Essentially: Select Go from the main toolbar, hold the Option key (very important) and select Libraries, then open Application Support and find Sky Go. Move everything in the folder (but not the folder itself) to trash, and restart your Mac.
Hope that helps further.

Sorry that should be Library not Libraries.

I have deleted and reinstalled the SkyGo app multiple times on my updated Mac and still not working.
Says it is 'checking for updates' when installed and opened - then greeted with the all too familiar message of 'unable to connect - please try again'. Trying again is becoming hilarious now as it does absolutley nothing.
Beyond frustrating!

Ditto exact problem, Sky Go originally worked on my laptop then stopped working. Interesting Sky Go does work on my iphone no problem. I understand the two are not the same - don't ask, I just heard it.
I have spoken with Apple Care who advised as per your notes above and no resolution with a stock answer of 'we do not support 3rd party systems', then to Sky Go again the same advice. Some 4 months later not working, Sky said 'no problem we are right on that and will be in touch', chased and chased.....Nothing!
