Re: Sky Go App not connecting to Internet

Yeah, hotspotting, using VPNs, mobile data and other WiFi connections all worked. Except Sky broadband. I highlighted it 2 weeks but it still hadnt been resolved. So I actually changed my broadband provider as I was out of contract with sky anyway. And that's working perfectly now. If I were to guess. There's some kind of security block with sky broadband in relation to fire sticks and 3rd party apps broadcasting sky content.  But it's also blocking legit sky content through Sky Go. And I've never used any firesticks or 3rd party apps to broadcast sky content. So I'm not sure why it started blocking Sky go on the tablet and phone. It's just inconvenient if other household users want to use Sky go on different devices while the TV/ Sky steam is being used.

It's bizarre alright as it only started recently so I wonder what changed?

If I was to guess. It's probably something to do with a crackdown on external devices/apps streaming sky content. Unfortunately it's affecting their own app.

I'm having this issue, did you get it resolved?

Re: Sky Go App not connecting to Internet

I rang Sky on Thursday for an update, but they said they're "still working on it." For me, the Sky Go app only works on an iPad by using the iPhone mobile data as a hotspot, but works fine on my son's Android tablet using broadband. Thinking back, the issue occurred for me after an iOS update, so I wonder if that had anything to do with it, or was it just a coincidence? The Sky customer service agent that I spoke to said that they will be sending out an update for the app as soon as it's resolved, but couldn't give me a definitive resolution timeline.
