Sky GO - software garbage
Yesterday, for no obvious reason, my Sky GO on a Windows 11 PC stopped working because of the dreaded PFE 4002 error. Other than reinstalling Windows (which I won't be doing), I've done all the things suggested by a thousand threads going back to 2017.
Does anyone actually know how to resolve this or have I lost the utter tripe that is Sky Go forever?
Given that they intend to transition away from satellite technology to online service, you would think Sky would be keen to at least make it work occasionally.
But based on the Sky Digital box software that still has bugs that were present when it launched, I think I can guess the answer to that.

I am facing the same from this weekend too. Every previous "fix" is not working now. This is very frustrating !!!

Re: Sky GO - software garbage
No. This is a working system with many applications and data, and the only thing that doesn't work is the Sky Go app, so reinstalling Windows would be a ridiculous, time-consuming exercise. And, there is no guarantee that it wouldn't break again after a few days if it did work initially.
What would help is if Sky employed proper software developers, not the kludge merchants who created this monstrosity.

Some people have has success using a clean install on a Virtual Machine, this shows if your install of Windows is broken and not the Sky Go app
No point trying all the Sky Go fixes, wasting time, if the actual issue is Windows

Re: Sky GO - software garbage
@Annie+UK No. It shows that Windows in combination with Sky Go is broken...since nothing else crashes when it is launched on this system. If an update to Windows caused the problem, then it will happen again when the update is applied to the VM version. And, since you can't effectively decline updates indefinitely, that's not a solution.
Anyway, I'm not reinstalling Windows or setting up a VM just to use Sky Go. Because I work for a living, and my life is finite.

Re: Sky GO - software garbage
Sky Go has been failing to work on Windows 11 for me from the day I unpacked my Surface Laptop and set up Windows. It is not a Windows problem, it's a Sky Go problem. Most likely is that the programmers used back door API tweaks from an earlier version of Windows that do not function as expected on Windows 11.
