This is ridiculous how they haven't fixed this yet. We would seriously appreciate even an acknowledgement from sky that the issue exists. Most of fork out a substantial amount of money to pay for this and its still not fixed.

I provided the details of the "fix" (bodge) to the Devs using the Play store feedback and was thanked me:
Hi, thanks for reporting this issue and for providing an update. I will raise this to the Development Team for reference. If you do experience this again, could you please let me know here? Kind regards, Edward
What more can we do?

So, another update to the Sky Go app dated 8th July (not been on chromebook for couple of weeks). Chromebook now running 103.0.5060.132 as well.
Live sport on Sky Sports STILL unwatchable, but live sport on BBC etc fine.
What a joke this is now Sky..... What's your latest thoughts or solution please?

It's not ideal - but if you're using the botch to watch Sky Go - although it stops the BT Sport and Amazon Prime apps working - you can still view both of those if you login via their respective websites instead of using the app (not perfect - but saves having to change the flags every time you switch between Sky Go and BT Sport)

As of yesterday 24/08/2022, with the latest version of ChromeOS and the latest version of the Sky Go Beta app, the work around is not needed! 🎊🎉
I've only tested with Sky Sports channels and BBC 2 on a Lenovo Chromebook Duet. The video runs smoothly and it's back to how it was a year ago!
Thank you Sky for eventually sorting this! It's just a real shame it took so long. If you could now enable casting and allow the app on Google TV and Fire TV I will be a happy man 🙂

The work around is required again for me 😔

Firstly, thank you for your patience and feedback regarding the issues seen with some Chromebooks recently.
The fix that was released last week was a change that was made on our back-end servers. There is no need to update your app or wait for new releases if you have Sky Go version 22.2 or above on your Chromebooks as it will be picked up automatically. Our development teams are working hard to remedy the issues seen on Chromebooks that are still seeing problems, and we will keep you updated on any further developments as they are available.
Thanks again,

Some channels work for me (including some Sky Sports ones), others fail, e.g. Sky News says codec error code 14. Also download to 'tablet' failed as well the couple of times I tried it.

I have a different issue I wonder if someone can help with. Sky go app used to work but has stopped. So I uninstalled and reinstalled, however now when I go to log in it says "Login is currently unavailable, please try again later". It has been this way for weeks now though so clearing trying again later won't resolve it. I wonder if it's a setting I've changed as it does work on a different chromebook profile. I did a power wash but don't know if that fully resets all settings as it didn't work after that either.

Well, surprise surprise, live sport STILL not working on Chrome book. Everything is updated, app and chrome book itself and totally unwatchable.

Yes, we are back here again, sky go app works for TV, Movies etc but is unwatchable for any sport channel, live or rerun, the picture is jittery and jumping all over the place.
Tried all of the usual suggested fixes, re-install, reboot etc to no avail. Sky Go works without issue on all our other devices but not the Google pixel slate.

Posted by a Sky employeeHi Everyone
I am truly sorry that some of you continue to have trouble with your Chromebooks.
Can I ask for those of you that are having problems, that you provide some further information for us please to continue our investigations?
What problem is it that you are seeing?
What is the OS version in use?
What is the manufacturer and model of the device

Hi Kev,
Thanks for coming back.
I am using a Google Pixel Slate
Chrome OS version- 108.0.5359.45 (official build) beta (64bit)
Sky GO app version 22.11.0
Very strange issues that I am experiencing- the picture is jumpy and jittery on sport channels only. So I am watching F1 right now on Sky showcase channel on the Sky GO app without issue, but if I change channel to Sky F1 channel the picture is jittery. Reguar channels (ITV Channel 4 etc) are fine. Sky Cinema Channels are fine. It is Sky sport channels only that are affected, all with the same jumpy jittery picture.
Appreciate if you can investigate and let us kow if you have any suggestions on how to rectify this frustrating issue.
Thanks in anticipation.
Regards,
John

Exactly same issue for me as for Johnny5705 - some channels seem fine, some channels, including all the sports channels are jittery. Sometimes the app will close by itself
I have an Acer Chromebook Spin 713
Chrome OS version - Version 107.0.5304.110 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Sky GO app version 22.10.1
