Is the app connected to a Sky Q box, if so on the settings on the app try disconnecting it.

Re: I keep getting Code PFE 9012. Not happy

For many years I have had Sky go on my phone and laptop (Intel)  working fine. For the same period, my son has it on his laptop (Macbook) and phone working fine as has my daughteron her laptop (Macbook) and phone. Some weeks ago, she has had this error on the Laptop only which starts as the spinning wheel of waiting forever and then the error code PFE 9012. Restart, delete and re-install etc. made no difference. I spoke with SKY support who initially told nme it was because I was "out of contract...and did I want to upgrade again?" I politely explained that this was a garbage response and 100% not true so please could they actually think before speaking again. I was transferred to 2nd level support who said they were aware of the problem (no **bleep** sherlock!) and we needed to locat a hidden folder called 'Cisco' and then go to the sub-folder called 'video guard' and delete its entire contents.
We have yet to locate these folders and they don't show in 'hidden' folders either. As of writing this, we are still stumped!

This is how to do this:

Uninstall the Sky Go app and then go to 'C:\Users\[your user name]\AppData\Roaming (ensure hidden files/folders are visible) and delete the following folders:

Sky
Sky Go

And if it is present (it might not be) the Cisco and/or Synamedia folder in App\Data\LocalLow.
Empty your recycle bin.

Reboot your PC and then download and install the Sky Go app again via here:
