Ultra HD

I've just had sky glass as pay off a bundle. It is showing upgrade to sky HD £0 and monthly £34 which I'm pursuing anyway. Does this mean it's a free upgrade

Hi @Ginsing64  The offer is only for 2 months. This is a cut & paste from the offer found onMySky:

  • £0 a month for 2 months. £6 a month thereafter. 31 days’ notice to cancel. Selected content available in UHD. Sky Sports and/or Sky Cinema subscriptions required to watch sports/movies in UHD.

Yes, but usually for a pre-determined period only, say 3 months. It should clearly state the length of time on the screen.

The UHD/Dolby Atmos add-on is a rolling 30 day contract I believe, so unless stated otherwise, you could give notice once the free period is coming to an end.

HD is the default.

Re: Ultra HD

Well that's what i thought. Not i can't see a time frame. Just bill at ,£34 p/m which is what I'm paying now.

Can't see free period and it's just in green saying adding.  It's a not confusing

Just add it and see how long it lasts for. If they start charging you then you can use this screen shot as evidence of there being no clear end date for the offer.

Re: Ultra HD

It was only for 2 months,  but it's not clear.  I added it anyway,  but can't see the difference to be honest. I wont be keeping it after the trial period.

I get simular mesage but for Ad skipping, i accept offer, cancel it straight away so it expires at the end of the period, and in no time at all they are offering me £0 a month again offer! I think in the last 12 months I've only paid for ad skipping once or twice

@Ginsing64  I tend to agree and don't have the UHD option myself.  It was fine while I had Sky Sport but when that got too expensive I cancelled it and I didn't see any point in keeping the UHD package.

UHD only affects selected Sky content anyway so if you don't watch much of it then you won't need it. All the other channels you get, BBC, ITV, 4, 5 etc are all just in HD. Glass upscales them anyway regardless of you having the UHD pack.

I try to convince myself that I can see the difference between UHD and HD on my OLED TV set when watching a 4K YouTube video.... majority of the time I cannot tell the difference too 🤣

Having said this, Sky Sportsis definitely better in UHD over HD
