I had had an issue with EE last year with the devices turning on and saying no WiFi or the devices dropping connection. After making a complaint to EE they signed me up for a trial software on the Smart Hub which fixed the issue somewhat but it wasn't as stable as previously.
Following further high level complaint I was moved to their Pro kit (which apparently was being rolled out to all busiest home customers) and back to being solid again.
I would take what EE say with a pinch of salt.

I have exactly the same problem, at the moment. Can stream perfectly on my Mac on BBC webpage but Sky just keeps dying - nothing to do with my internet connection.
