Sky puck

A few time now I have tried turning on my sky puck with the remote and only the tv comes on. This is no white light on the puck and nothing happens when I press the button on the puck. The only way to solve this is unplugging the puck and plugging it back in. Frustrating as I have to pull the stereo out  to unplug it each time. Is the puck faulty?

normally it's a long press on the standby button to turn the tv on and short press to turn on the puck 

I find it easier to turn on the tv with a long press then press the home button to turn on the puck

I understand the long press. It's been working fine for the past month now just doesn't work every now and again. The only way to sort it is unplugging and plugging back in.
