Sky don't offer a swap for Glass TVs. When you purchase a Glass you own it from day 1. You are free to purchase a newer Glass TV if you wish, but you still retain ownership over your older one, so if you want to use it to replace the older one, rather than have 2 Glass TVs you will either need to try and sell the TV second hand or responsibly dispose of it yourself.

Sky Glass is not like other Sky equipment - it is owned by you from the moment you start paying for it.

As stated by @MarkGoldsmith - there is no 'upgrade' option to trade in a gen1 Glass for a gen2 or a Glass Air.

If you want a newer model then you simply need to purchase one, either outright or via a new loan agreement (subject to status.)

You can always upgrade to a regular smart TV and attach a Sky Stream puck to it for the same SkyOS experience if you wish. There are many more options available in terms of screen size, panel type, connectivity, app availability, etc by going for a smart TV. Some manufacturers and retailers offer free 5 or 6 year warranties with them too. Sky Glass comes with a 2 year warranty.

You may find historic references online to a 'Swap' scheme for Glass similar to the one Sky Mobile offers for handsets: although this was announced at the Glass launch event in 2021 it never actually happened.

32min 40sec into the launch video here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fcfcWxeR_a4

"...we believe we'll be the first TV manufacturer in the world to offer an exchange program. So just like your mobile phone you can sign up to regularly swap your Sky Glass for the latest model."

This wasn't actually true because Samsung had already tried it and quickly stopped their TV Upgrade Programme when the pandemic hit. It was never re-introduced and Sky's exchange program never actually materialised at all.

Frankly I never thought it would, and expressed extreme scepticism at the time.

The logistics are somewhat different to putting a smartphone into a padded bag, and there's the slight issue of what to actually do with a warehouse full of returned units for which there's a negligible market.

I suspect it was me who originally transcribed that from the video ; )
