Price increase this April
We still have a cost of living crisis and Sky are increasing my subscription by £13 per month.I only been with Sky Glass for a month.I managed to get a discount of £12 per month well that gone.I managed to get further discounts from Sky but had to cut my subscriptions as well. Not a good policy for Sky to have. What do fellow Sky users think about this.I don't think there a lot of new content for Sky to justify this.

Re: Price increase this April
Hi @Totalwar2
Not sure why it's a shock. Every provider has put up it's prices. My EE bill has gone up substantially more than my Sky bill. It's a fact of life unfortunately.
However if your on a new contract you should be protected from prices rises for the first 60 days.
This is sky's justification for the increase: https://www.skygroup.sky/article/An-update-on-our-tv-and-broadband-prices - but yes, like you not sure if it stacks up as much as they are trying to make it in that release.

Re: Price increase this April
I've not had the usual email with the price increases, I'm sure ive usually heard by now.
I keep checking my account and future bills but nothing. I see where it lists all sky products under Netflix it says Netflix standard will go up by £2 a month, so im thinking of going to the free version with ads as ive netflix don't show too many especially compared to Prime.
Anyone had an email yet?

The price increase emails are sent out in stages. In theory there is no reason you wouldn't receive the email over the next couple of weeks if you haven't already

Re: Price increase this April
My price increase isn't until August this year so I'm happy not sure if it's because I took glass 2 years in July but it could also be for almost 8 years loyalty

Re: Price increase this April
Tell me about it!! I'm currently paying £104, but from April it would be £120! I'm also stuck in a bloody contract for certain subscriptions, but they still increase the price during the contract, It should honestly be illegal!
from April for me
Sky ultimate TV £32.50
Netflix standard £8.50
sky sports £27.58
Sky movies £12
TNT Sport £34
Ad skipping £6
if it wasn't for the discounts, I get on some of the subscriptions. It would actually cost £139.99!!!
The only thing I can really do is council TNT sport which I will be doing when the Premier League/Champions League has finished. But this just isn't an affordable way to watch TV anymore!!
My Set up:
Sky Glass Gen 1 + Sky Ultimate TV + Sky Sports + Sky Cinema + Ad Skipping

Re: Price increase this April
on sky glass sky ultimate TV is £32.50 yet on NOW you can get a entertainment package for only £2.99!!
it doesn't matter what is included in the sky ultimate TV package most of us probably don't even care about most of what's included! I also find it Diabolical that you pay for ad skipping, but then you have to pay for ad skipping in each individual app (like Netflix, disney, Hbo, etc).
My Set up:
Sky Glass Gen 1 + Sky Ultimate TV + Sky Sports + Sky Cinema + Ad Skipping

Re: Price increase this April
When your talking about Sky Ultimate not being worth it do you mean with or without the new streaming services like disney+ & HBOmax etc. I agree it wasn't worth it before especially at full price £30+
But now with with the addition of the extra streaming services I think it's definitely worth around £25 especially if you want or are subscribing to those particular streamers. Now tv obviously only includes Sky tv and a couple of other channels
There has been a lot of comments and complaints about the addition of Disney, HBO etch not being ad free, Although frustrating it is too much to expect Sky to provide the ad free versions of these as it would just push the Sky subscription or ad skipping price up to cover it.,

To be honest the streamers wouldn't want to bundle in the ad-free version with another service though, as their aim would be to provide the cheapest tier as a bundle, get more customers so they can perhaps charge more for the ads they run on the their platform, and then hope a small percentage of those bundled customers decide to upgrade to one of the higher tiers.
