Playlist question
I currently have Sky Q but barely record anymore. I mainly use the apps and catch up.
looking for a new TV so am looking at Glass Gen 2. The one thing we do record is Bullseye on Challenge. Nostalgia! How does that work on Playlist? Will it just store the episodes to the cloud?

Re: Playlist question
You find the series in the TV Shows list or TV Guide and add the series to your Playlist. Any episodes that are available to stream will automatically be added to your Playlist.
There's no personal cloud storage or ability to record.

Re: Playlist question
Hi @splatto
That's not 100% true. When you add something to play list you get a message saying "Added to playlist" or "Added to playlist and series set to record". Some content gets cloud recorded allowing playback via sky's interface rather than forcing you to view it via an app.
A good example of this is sports programmes and when sky launched the product the suggest a 1000 hours of storage space in the cloudz but seems to no longer reference this.
@gb220391 - https://www.cordbusters.co.uk/sky-stream-recording-explained/ has a good article about how it works and https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-stream-faqs is the official faq.

Re: Playlist question
@mikealanr Okay. I was told that if you set something to record the series it just meant that future episodes are not available to stream until after the broadcast date at which time it would appear in your Playlist and everyone accesses the same content. I will have to stop quoting Sky advisors. 🙂

Re: Playlist question
Thanks both. I understand there is no recording capacity I just wondered how something from Challenge would play as there is no app for this channel.

It will vary from show to show depending on the rights Sky have for a show. For example when Challenge broadcast The Crystal Maze, adding this to your playlist won't "record" the show as Sky seemingly don't have the rights to allow this for The Crystal Maze, with instead the way of watching it through a catch up service being a subscription to ITV X Premium, who hold the rights.

Re: Playlist question
Thanks all.
So honest opinion - do I do it? Or do I stick with Q until the end?!

Thats only a decision you can make.
Sky Glass/Stream is a very marmite type of experience, some people prefer it over the Sky +/Q, whilst others don't and much prefer the satellite based platform.
I'd suggest perhaps going to a Currys or a Sky stand in a local shopping centre where you should be able to get a decent look at the platform. Also the Sky Help YouTube channel has some nice short videos on the various features.

Re: Playlist question
I only switched from Q to Stream because the hard drive failed and they offered me the same TV package with extras for £14 cheaper. It's inferior in my opinion.
