Picture Is Dark After Updating To QS039

Hi

I noticed today that my Sky Glass 55 ( Green ) had different picture settings when I turned it

on this morning.

It reminded me of what the picture settings were when I had it delivered over 3 years ago.

I was curious & noticed that the SKY OS had updated from 38 to 39.

I amended the picture settings to my preference afterwards.

Anyone aware what might have changed from SKY OS 38 to 39?

Thanks.

QS039.012.00P

I've noticed my Sky Glass gen 1 has updated to QS039.012.00P. Anyone else had this and noticed any changes

Hi @BillClay

These updated do happen form time to time but the new features are rolled out via the UI version. 3.117.3 is the latest IIRC.

Picture settings

Hello,

For some strange reason my picture settings have seemed to automatically reset.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Re: Picture settings

@Abdn607 Just nipped onto the board here to ask exactly that. Our Glass gen 1 has updated to build QS039.012.00P and the screen looked pretty dim. Going into settings > Oicrure and sound > Oicture and AutoBacklight Adjestment has been googled onto On (we had it switched off before).

Toggling Auto backlight adjustment back to off and the picture looks as it was now. Back to watching Deep Space Nine.

Re: SKY OS 39 Update

Sports Vivid is supposed to be a new picture option coming soon, it could be part of the upgrade sat there waiting to be activated. HBO soon to launch another possible in the background. I suspect a few tweaks after the Sky Event next week.

Hopefully some of the many bugs are squashed.

The best indicator of changes to the platform are the UI versions.

Yes, they've updated on my equipment but can't see anything immediately standing out.

I've noticed today that my picture on all changes has gone darker is this because of the update?

Re: SKY OS 39 Update

Interesting. Does anyone know when theOS updated from 38 to 39? Could 39 contain the bug that is causing so many TVs to fail when used first thing in the morning requiring a mains disconnect / reconnect?

Re: Picture settings

Yeah most recent software update reset them

No this has been happening for a long time. The units are just really sensitive to connectivity issues. I've never owned another product that struggles to keep a connection over WiFi like Glass TV even my tumble drier in the utility room keeps it's connection a distance from the router whereas the Glass has clear line of sight. Just to add it has the issue Ethernet connected too. Software, poor quality, bugs 🤷‍

There isn't a set date when updates are pushed. Sky push software and UI updates in batches so rollouts of updates are typically done over a period of several weeks.
