PIN on Sky One

Why does Sky One on my Sky Glass TV ask  me for a PIN only when I watch certain episodes of the SIMPSONS, no other channel or program does this as I have  the pin turned of for age related content.

@Dorgo  Any Post watershed content view before 9pm will always require a pin this is mandatory as set out by the regulators.

This is anytime of the day when I watch The SIMPSONS only, nothing else it happens with, films ok anytime of the day etc.

Simpsons episodes are typically U or PG, but have occasional episodes rated as 12

It's the 12 rating that triggers the Mandatory Daytime Protection PIN challenge, which is required by the Broadcasting Code.

MDP (as the name suggests) cannot be removed by viewers

Edit: Seasons 13-16 (from 2001 onwards, when a new show runner took over) have a much higher percentage of 12-certificate episodes than previous seasons.

Films shown on broadcast daytime channels are either low certificate originally or are edited to be so.

Sky Cinema applies a PIN where that's required.
