@MYSKYMOBLE

It would be up to the channel owners to decide if they wish to invest appropriately to meet the Sky requirements for inclusion in the Glass/Stream EPG: this is fundamentally different to the historic satellite platforms.

They may well prefer to have their own streaming facilities instead, use YouTube or a FAST service, or simply not have a market presence once satellite transmission ends.

Sky Glass and Sky Stream absolutely cannot function without broadband.

Sky+ and Sky Q are legacy platforms: they will cease to operate once there aren't any broadcast satellites serving the UK (probably within the next four years)

As I said, it's up to channel owners to decide if they wish to continue to be listed in an online-only Sky EPG and meet the requirements to do so: just having previously been available on satellite isn't sufficient.

Re: PAKISTANI

Indeed, if you can't stream Youtube, I'd forget about Sky Glass.

A small audience within the UK would probably like those channels: that's not the same as Sky needing them.

Channel owners have to decide what's financially viable given the likely number of viewers: it's not a decision for Sky.

@MYSKYMOBLE  We are not Sky, we are customers like you, it makes no difference where Sky have their call centres they just can't add 3rd party channels at will, it is up to the channels owners.

But this has been explained already.

Indian television does have a vast home market and external investment from companies like Disney: that provides resources to operate in countries which would otherwise be financially unviable.

In its regulated EPG Sky is required to allocate a numbered slot to any channel which meets UK broadcasting regulations if the channel owners request it.

Why are pakistani family channels not meet with uk broadcasting

@MYSKYMOBLE

They may well do so, although they'd need to apply for a licence from Ofcom if they don't have one.

https://www.ofcom.org.uk/tv-radio-and-on-demand/digital-tv/guidance-for-tv-broadcast-licensees

The point we're repeating is it's the channel owners who decide whether or not they want to be on a Sky platform for access in the UK, and a big part of their calculation will come down to financial viability.  It's really hard to make enough money from television advertising these days, even for channels with big audiences.

You need to vent your feelings at the channels you wish to see on Sky's platform, not at Sky.

Posting on a forum like this is going to achieve nothing.

Contact the "pakistani family channels" directly and enquire if they have any plans to offer their channels to Sky's streaming service.
