OS2 causing technical issues, freezing problems

I've opted out of OS2 after daily issues with intermittent connections, technical problems, black screen, numerous resets, apps locking up. I have 2 x broadband providers Sky and 3 5G both running Ethernet wired with WiFi switched off. I like the functionality of OS2 but frankly it's not worth the hassle

Re: How can we remember what can and can't be recorded?

@mancsmark

I fully agree with you. Clarity is not a strong point of SkyOS & I fear that 2.0 is only muddying the waters even more.
Bringing cloud recording to the forefront on the new beta release is only going to increase frustration amongst customers when, like you, you have been presented with the expectation that you can 'record' something from the TV Guide, only to discover the next day that you cannot.
Having multiple screens of recording management, watchlists, and such like is all well and good, but it still doesn't fix the fundamental issue with SkyOS - that you cannot clearly see whether something on the TV Guide/EPG will or will not cloud record or play back via a subscription-free app.

Re: New Sky OS 2.0

I would like to add my voice to those who've suggested that the Apps option should either be added to the top menu bar or the Apps rail itself should be the first rail on the Home screen. It's just a little thing but would make the navigation a lot faster. The Apps rail should be the first rail above the Best of Sky, TV Shows etc rail.

Re: New Sky OS 2.0

Two things from me

1. Just encountered a bug when viewing F1 qualifying, forwarding through pre amble to get to qualifying start, I forwarded through and pressed enter key at about 1:36 into 3h program, nothing happened, pressing play/pause button, nothing happened, no matter what I did I could not stop the program forwarding. I pressed the home button, F1 qualifying still forwarding in the currently playing tile. Went back into my library and selected F1 qualifying again, it started from the time I initially pressed the enter button.

2. Play live TV option in the settings is an excellent idea, really like it on my puck, miss having the option on my other puck.  Suggestion, could you add another option to the settings that toggles "Live TV full screen" or "Live TV in currently playing tile" (as it's now)

Re: New Sky OS 2.0

@Angel_Aka I don't have Sky OS 2.0 yet but it's disheartening to note that from what you're saying, it's not going to make things any better. Hopefully they will improve it by the time it is released. If not I am going to consider whether it's possible for me to get out of my Sky Stream contract and rejoin Q.

Whether SkyOS 2.0 improves things or not remains to be seen. Judging by the feedback so far it's very much a mixed bag. Some testers are loving it, others hate it and have reverted back to the original OS.
If the ability to record reliably is important to you then Sky Q is really the only option. You can still switch to Sky Q from Stream at any point, even mid-contract. You need to call Sky to do so and will need to start a new 24 month Sky Signature contract.

Good feedback.

Think the Home top rail or rails will always be some kind of more generic content promotion from Sky, like the Best from Sky rail etc.

For the top menu, do think as others have suggested it could add a few more options, like links to Apps and Sky Cinema.

On apps, is the recent apps rail in the recent section of any help? I find that a good quick launch of apps I use regularly.

But be honest, I mostly use voice launch for apps, that yes not everyone does use voice though.

Excellent feedback.

On your F1 report, was that ff stall during an ad break within the programme, if you noticed?
There has been quite a bit of feedback reported about ff stuttering during some ad points.

Re: New Sky OS 2.0

No I don't believe it was during an ad break.

What I did notice is the point when I initially pressed enter button to stop forwarding,1h36 in, is the same time playback restarted when after going via home screen and back into my library.  So even though the program kept forwarding, it was not logged, just a bug showing connect forwarding.

Re: How can we remember what can and can't be recorded?

@Angel_Aka - have you used os2.0 ? You can clearly see whether something is going to be recorded or added to watchlist. It tells you? I am not sure what you are going on about

Re: How can we remember what can and can't be recorded?

@Angel_Aka  I was going to ask the same question as @Hoover123  because this beta trial makes recording so much more straightforward for me, infact I'm loving it, apart from the occasional glitch the whole system is working so much better, and the picture quality has improved immensely.

Re: How can we remember what can and can't be recorded?

@Freddieboy69 - angel doesn't even have sky, let alone sky stream os2.0.

sky stream on 2.0 tells you exactly when you are recording and adding to playlist, even some of the channel 4 programmes are recorded. It works very well

Glad to hear it! Hope you continue to enjoy OS 2.0 and it gets to a state where everyone can enjoy it with the same reliability.
