Mysterious new Sky remote

I've just joined Sky and received my remote for the telly. But there were no instructions with it and my remote looks different than the models on the sky/help instructions. I can't seem to record programmes over a 7-day period, only on the day. And I don't know how to delete programmes after I've watched them. I don't like this remote, I would like the standard-issue one

You don't delete single programmes as that isn't how the platform works. The Sky streaming service is like any streaming platform where you add specific shows or films to your playlist ( or watchlist as some streaming platforms call it) and it displays all the available episodes from that show you are watch, you cannot remove individual episodes from the list.

The Glass/Stream remote matches Glass/Stream functionality, which is not the same as the previous satellite platforms.

The handset you've received is by definition the 'standard-issue one'.

If you go down the homepage to Settings and then across to Help, click on help. In there are a number of useful How To video guides on using Sky Glass. In particular the videos on Playlists should help with setting recordings/adding shows to your playlist, viewing them once added/recorded and deleting the programmes afterwards.

Sky Glass and Stream will take a little getting used to if you've been used to Sky Q/Sky+HD for a long time but it will soon become familiar. The videos in the Help section are a useful start and are only one or two minutes long each.

Re: Mysterious new Sky remote

Thank you! This is enormously helpful. Luckily for me - quite by accident - last night I found out how to look forward 7 days for programmes to record. Horray! I still think a user booklet should come in the remote packaging. Now I WILL watch those videos. Thanks again

Everything hooked up, all buttons shing brightly. But a problem with my landline. Although I've hooked it up to the hu b and a power source,  incoming calls don't ring and go straight to Voicemail and say this person isn't available, leave a messager etc. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?
