Re: Last few days, technical fault with channel, disney plus etc works.

I reported the issue with Sky, I've completed the form on here several times but I'm so fed up with this, I've sent a complaint email to Sky.

Ive sorted my Sky Glass. Switch off the TV at wall and then hold down the power button on the side of the TV for 5 seconds. Then switch the TV back on.

@Cocoalex I'd be surprised if that sorts it permanently, it hasn't for anyone else yet.

That would be the recovery procedure.

Usually needed when the Sky Glass TV or similar not turning on as also is the case for a puck, when they refuse to turn on.

If doing so for this issue, as something to try, probably worth ignoring the remote repair, so from step 2

Sky Glass recovery procedure:

  1. On your Sky remote, press 4 and 6 together for three seconds. This will reset your remote.
  2. Switch off your TV at the mains again. There's no need to unplug it.
  3. Press and hold the Standby button on the right-hand side of the TV.

4. Keeping your finger on the button, switch the power back on at the mains and wait until you see the LED lights flash, then remove your finger.
5. Let the Sky Glass TV complete the recovery process. This can take up to 15 minutes, depending on your broadband speed.

@Cocoalex Tried the recovery process when the problem first arose - next morning, same issue . . .

Has any Superuser or sky employee on here got any meaningful update from Sky?

Gets better

you try and use your hdmi device and you get adverts for Prime start playing...this is after getting a replacement TV (via insurance)

I'm expecting a call back from complaints....for the second time. Best I've got from engineers is to keep ringing support to be guided through resetting it.........and blaming my internet.

this has to stop

@wsimm I agree but I also understand updating software isn't a two minute task plus there's also the risk of rushed updates causing more problems.

At this point though, if I knew it solved this problem definitively I would take a roll back to the previous update. The sound sync was annoying but quicker to switch channels than it is to do a restart.

Re: Last few days, technical fault with channel, disney plus etc works.

I am thinking the same, the issue has been going on for a month now and nothing from Sky, dead silence. I am seriously thinking of dumping Sky Glass all together.

@DMK me too - literally dumping it. I'm sick of the sight of it every morning.

It's dragging on far too long and Sky need to up the ante

Not sure why my post has been put here as it affects stream as well as glass. It's the puck that is the issue... come on Sky
