Hi. Just got sky glass delivered today. All good. Just wanted to ask a quick question regarding hdr and dv content.
So on a "normal" tv, if something plays in either of these formats, you usually get a little "hdr" or "dolby vision" sign flash up in the corner. Doesn't seem to happen on the sky glass. My simple question is, should it? Or am I just relying on, if something says it's an hdr movie etc, it will be automatically playing in hdr?

Nope it doesn't. The content information should tell you what it is and you can manage default playback in settings. But will try to play back at the best quality.

On Sky Glass there are different variations of HDR and different levels of subscription required to show them.
You need the UHD/Atmos pack as part of your subscription in order to get any Sky channel content in HDR. There are only a couple of live Sky Sport channels which show UHD with the HLG format of HDR. All other Sky content in UHD with HLG HDR will stream on demand as long as you select that format from the 'Other Formats' tab on the programme page.
UHD content from BBC iPlayer will stream with HLG HDR automatically if you have added a show to a playlist which supports the format or if you search for it.
Dolby Vision content is only available via third party apps, each of which require the relevant subscription tier. Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video and HBO Max each require you to have the Premium 4K ad-free tiers. Apple TV does not have a tiered system and will play Dolby Vision in 4K with Atmos if you subscribe.
Depending on your model of Glass TV it can be difficult to differentiate between the formats by eye. Glass Air is not a particularly bright TV overall for example, and only has global dimming, so HDR formats don't 'pop' in the same way as they can on brighter TVs with local dimming.
If memory serves me correctly (I no longer have Glass) I think if you press the button on the Glass remote with the three coloured dots whilst playing some content, it should tell you on-screen the HDR format you're watching.

Re: HDR and Dolby Vision
Dolby Vision content will show the Dolby Vision badge on the display menu after pressing the ... (three dots) buttons on your remote when playing DV content. it will do the same for the sound formats when playing Dolby Atmos or Dolby Audio based content (the latter being most content that Sky Stream/Glass will play). Alas there is no badge when playing HLG or HRD10 content.
