Continue Watching Rail Issues

Hi @Exiled  I fully agree about the delete button, this would have been the perfect opportunity to introduce it.

Like you when I was upgraded to OS2 I had various strange programmes appear in my CW rail including Fargo as mentioned by @MartinV (also the Resident Evil film).  I have tried all the tricks to try and remove these errant programmes but nothing seemed to work.  My CW rail was in such a mess that last night I deleted the rail entirely through the Data & Personalisation options on my MySky account.  I turned it back on again this morning and am now waiting for it to reappear which from memory took a couple of days when I did it last time.

So glad I'm not the only one that Fargo randomly appeared for! I've also tried everything to get it removed. my last hope is like you turning off profiling and turning it back on which I'm currently in the process of doing that but it takes several days to see whether it worked or not. 

isn't it Also funny official Sky staff don't even bother responding to any issues now about CW rail. surely they have the power to speak to people High up about the continuous amount of people having issues and trying to get them to do something about it.

You couldn't make it up. That woman was wrong, they are 100% aware. She was just fobbing you off.

Oh i know! She kept saying "I'm waiting for them to get back to me", as while I was talking to her she was obviously also typing to somebody else from a different department. the best advice she could give me is just do a factory reset every couple of months, because apparently when you do that it will push any smaller software update through that wouldn't get pushed through automatically. 

at this point I just don't know how sky are allowed to get away with having a feature that just barely doesn't work! They are just taking your money, but they're not even listening to the issues customers face. I honestly can't wait till my contract is up because I am seriously considering leaving.

I'd take that "tip" with a huge bucket of salt.

Even if it were true, that's terrible advice. It's akin to a plumber telling you it's easier to rebuild your house than for him to fix a dripping tap.

Factory reset / reboot is their default for every problem. All it does is clear the current problems but as soon as you start watching programmes again the same problems reoccur. As soon as I get a reply from Sky I'll post it on here but don't hold your breath. If enough people put their complaints in writing maybe they might do something but problem not.

It's been about 24 hours since I turned the recommendations and profiling setting back on. Netflix has we appeared via CW which is great, but currnelty not "The Bill" which I'm watching via Sky (Not U App). but on a plus note at least that unwanted prime program has now gone (but we can't be doing this every time there's an issue)

I wanted to ask if these problems carry on, I will seriously consider turning off the continue watching Rail completely! most apps like Netflix, Disney, ITVx etc literally have a continue watching section within their specific app! the only thing I'm not too sure about is how easy or difficult it is to go back and carry on a program that you watch via sky.

Happened to me also. I actually watched Fargo but when I'd finished the final series it randomly stayed on the CW rail on a random episode on series 3. Went after about 3 weeks. Now I've just had the series Neagley on Prime added to the CW rail even though I've never added it to series or had even heard of it before it was added. 🤦‍♂️

Will admit not read through the entire thread again but to confirm the CW rail has been an issue from launch and unless there is radical change to how data is delivered and recognised akin to Apple TV that handles CW relatively flawlessly then the issues raised will continue and continue.

A few weeks back I switched off the CW rail feature to clear, it then took nearly a week for content to start populating again but even now it is back to how it was with some random content appearing and other content refusing to go.

Itvx

Disney+

Paramount+

Are particularly problematic but not alone as 4, 5 and Discovery+ have had issues too.

Will Sky ever sort this? There does feel like there is no will to do so. Maybe OS2.0 will have a solution but from what I've seen so far 🤔

I've turned off CW as it is not fit for purpose and set up Playlists that can track content keep me up to date with viewing and can be easily removed.

I have:

PLAYLIST - This contains all active content that is currently being viewed whether a series or started and not finished.

WATCHLIST - All content available on the platform but not started, when I do start anything it is moved to Playlist

TWO PERSONAL LISTS

MOVIES - Just keep these separate as I just removed once viewed

HIATUS - all content viewed no longer required current sitting here ready for a new season and of course a history of content viewed. So playlist items once complete moved here.

So OK I need to be regimented in keeping these up to date but I find it very easy to do and no frustration of looking at a pointless CW rail.

I just hope OS2.0 won't muck up my system 🙄

Alongside side this my Apple TV CW is always up to date so I know exactly where I'm at.  OCD? Who said that 😂

Hi @Gincap Like you I have multiple playlists.  If I only had one playlist then the My Library / watchlist feature on OS2.0 would be brilliant but unfortunately adding and removing programmes to multiple lists is very cumbersome at the moment which is a shame as it was so easy on OS 1.3.  This has been reported [removed]

My CW rails was a complete mess after being updated to OS2.0 so I removed it a few days ago and it is now repopulated without the rubbish.  Currently the only problem I am having with it (both before and since deleting it) is that Discovery + programmes are not appearing on it.  I'm not sure if this is OS2.0 related or not.

You know my position about the CW delete function so I won't bother to repeat it as it might spoil my day 🤣
