Channel 5 movies with news break

Hi.

Trying to add movies to plsylist:

Rainman and My Fair Lady. They have breaks when shiwn on channel 5, so playlist only saves first half, even wben you select add to both parts. Is ghrte a gix for this?

I experienced this today with Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. My son wanted to watch, so hit watch from start. This played 1 hour only of the movie (1st part), then once finished had to watch from start on the second part.

Same issue with the Night at the museum movie on right now.

I can't remember this being an issue on sky Q, but not sure if series link saved the day or they never put the break in the epg.

@Philyzaha @mikealanr @FMUK

This is an issue with Sky+ and Sky Q recordings as well where both parts have to be selected manually: it's caused by channels which choose to insert bogus 'news' items into films purely to evade the Ofcom limit on the amount of advertising which is permitted within a particular individual broadcast.  There appears to be an additional glitch with Glass because unlike previous systems it's not actually 'saving' data to disk and just linking to items, but in these cases doesn't recognise the portion after the 'news'.

Agreed, so why can't it be answered and addressed?

Its a simple 'series link' challenge surely.

@FMUK if you are expecting Sky to answer the point you are likely to be disappointed as they do not respond to individual threads. However by posting they are aware of the issue as all posts are read. Seems relatively simple case of requiring broadcasters to add list the movie as a 2 episode series or the equivalent.

Of course to work the broadcasters have to add the correct metadata and some seem incapable of doing thst after well over 10 years of the Sky epg.
