Actually have a better playlist

I literally cannot be the only person thinking this ?
J have zero interest in things like celebrities, wicked, the death of billy munro, celebtrity race around the world etc so I want to stop seeing all that stuff by i.e. block celebrity dating
I bought my Glass outright so why can't we add topics that interest us etc

Because, unfortunately, the home screen isn't customizable.

I'm guessing the reason for this is marketing, as it enables Sky to not only promote their own shows but potentially have deals/agreements in place with the likes of Netflix or Apple TV for example to promote their content on the Home screen.

@GreyDuck  Not sure of the relevance that you bought it outright as all Glass TV's are owned by the customer whether it's on credit or bought outright.

However all that is irrelevant as you have bought a TV with Sky Software inside that is not customisable, none of Skys platforms have had this option be it Sky +HD, Sky Q or Sky Glass/Stream

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

Because the television set is hardware.  What's being displayed is content. and that's controlled by Sky and its partners, as is the operating system and user interface.

Re: Actually have a better playlist

All streaming operators push content and promote their own content above others, you may not like everything but often something pops up of interest.

Apple heavily promote their content and Amazon firestick does too but with the added feature of ADS at least with Sky they don't have advertising and if they ever do I'm off.

If you want a minimalist screen then your choice is Apple TV as they keep it very clinical to use.

100%. I find tvOS on Apple's hardware to be superior to any operating system used on any streaming device. It can be set to open to just a page of app icons with no advertising or promotion of content whatsoever.

If you want recommendations then you can easily select the Apple TV app which will serve up suggestions from all connected apps.
