should I get mobile router as back up when broadband outage means I can't use sky glass?

There have been a few broadband outages recenly - twice this week for 8 hours at a time so far. while I previously could cope with broadband going down for a bit using phone data, now that I have Sky Glass, a broadband outage means I lose TV for nights at a time. way harder to handle. is it worth getting a mobile router so I can still watch TV? I lose netflix, amazon prime and sky every time it happens, all of which I pay for, so I would like to be able to access them. is a mobile router a good idea as a back up for each time it happens? I know I would need another SIM too so what package would be good for me? do Sky have any offers to support Sky Glass customers?

@merek cant see using a mobile wifi router wouldn't work but remember your Glass TV gets through a lot of data in an evenings watching.  However to me the main issue is the unreliability of your main internet connection. Broadband should only very rarely drop I can't remeber the last time my connection failed as it was several years ago.

I would be getting onto my ISP and finding out what is wrong as it sounds like you have a faulty line. If you are with Sky post a thread in the Broadband forum with your Sky hub's stats Find your Sky Broadband router statistics

Hi @merek

I have BT's "unbreakable WiFi" so the odd time my FTTP link has gone down it cuts over to an EE cellular box. I got it mainly because I work from home and can't afford to be offline.

When on the EE network, Glass just about works, but prone to a bit of break up etc. UHD doesn't really work well either. Glass does have an aerial so you can get basic DTT (Freeview) channels if there isn't any internet connection.
