The fact that BBC i player and youtube are available on the skyglass menu it is just stupid to not allow access to normal internet on this device. Any plans to provide access?

Re: Why is internet access not available despite the fact that app which use the internet are availa
Sky chooses not to include a web browser: they never did on the Q platform (which is now eight years old)
Given how many better devices exist, there's really no need for the fairly miserable experience of trying to use a dodgy non-standard browser with a television remote control.
BT Halo 3+ Ultrafast FTTP (500Mbs), BT Smart Hub 2

Why do you need 'normal internet' on Sky Glass? It's a TV designed to deliver streaming TV services controlled by Sky. It's highly, highly unlikely they'll ever add a web browser.
Even more traditional smart TV's don't bother with web browsers these days.
If you want a web browser on your Sky Glass then add a device which allows screen mirroring and mirror a web browser from your mobile phone/tablet/laptop. Much easier to control this way.
