Tv keeps glitching and volume keeps tripping out

Volume on tv keeps going up and down like the speaker is blown. 
Tv keeps glitching/sticking whilst watching programmes

Hi - first of all try pulling the plug for a few minutes .... it clears a lot of gremlins in the system
