Sky multiroom with Sky glass

Hi, I am interesting in getting a glass gen 2 but I am insure if it's worth it because will I still have to pay multiroom? Because rn I have 2 pucks obviously if I get the tv won't need one of them anymore so does that cancel out multiroom or do I change to sky glass so the 1 pick counts as an extra puck when it didn't before I got the TV?

Re: Sky multiroom with Sky glass

You'd still need multi-room. Sky TV service contract is only for one viewing device be it Stream or Glass or Q. Anything on top of that like a Stream puck even with Glass needs a multi-room subscription.

Re: Sky multiroom with Sky glass

So basically when you put a glass TV on your subscription it just counts that as another device so even if I get rid of the puck and take it down to two the puck that was classed as my original device becomes an extra right?

Yes. You still need the multi-room subscription to be able to continue viewing on the puck.

Appreciate the help, also if I was to keep the 2 pucks and the TV the price stays the same right?

Re: Sky multiroom with Sky glass

If you are going to get Glass you might need to know this information too:

If you intend on wall mounting the TV you need to order the wall mount at the same time as you order Glass.

Standard delivery takes between 3-28 days and the Glass will only be delivered to you and left. You would need to unbox it and put it onto its stand yourself (easier with Gen Two sets but still a two person job).

You can pay £45 for Premium Delivery, which means you can choose the delivery day to a degree and the TV will be unpacked and assembled onto its stand.

Neither option will wall mount the TV if required though.

There is also an issue affecting some gen one and gen two customers with Glass where the screen will go black but still continue playing sound. This is an issue Sky are aware of and will hopefully be fixing soon with a firmware update. You may be lucky and not experience it but I wanted to mention it just in case - it's not a faulty TV issue.

Finally, though the Glass has a WiFi connection, most have found that using an ethernet cable between the router and TV provides a more stable connection. If you go down this connection route you will need to turn WiFi off in the settings.

@ArtificialAir I'm not sure. I think it would but Sky can confirm that.

Yes the whole home add-on monthly price is the same regardless of the number of additional devices you have on your account. The extra cost only comes in the one-off purchase price of the Glass TV or the £39 activation fee they charge for stream pucks.

Re: Sky multiroom with Sky glass

That's really helpful thank you! I think I'm going to leave it and carry on as I am for now with the two pucks just seems like the more sensible option!
