Sky glass stuck on updating but has no broadband and wont go back to see hmdi or aireal for tv

I need help I have no broadband at the moment but sky glass is stuck on updating software  and will not go to the home screen to attach terrestrial tv or hmdi cable have contacted sky several times but they dod not know how to help I cannot watch tv and I am paying fir the 65inch sky glass please can you help

@Lovelatin123  Try unplugging the TV for a few minutes then plug back in.

Hibwe have done this and now trying over night to see if it changes the home button is not doing anything so cannot get to the airel or hdmi apps

What is the issue with the BB?


Until you have a connection to the internet you're unlikely to complete the update🤔

Sky glass problem

I still cannot use my sky glass tv to watch terrestrial tv as sky cannot get a fast enough speed broadband to run the tv now the screen is constantly stuck on updating software and will not go back to homepage so I can use as a normal tv is this covered by the warrenty  as it must be a fault

If it's less than 31 days since you activated the TV then you can simply call Sky and return it. You can purchase many other smart TVs which do not rely entirely on a network connection to function.

@Lovelatin123  Try rebooting your Glass by unplugging it for a couple of minutes and then plugging it back in again.  It will take about a minute to reboot.

 

Seeing as you have poor broadband you will have continuous problems so if you are within your 31 day cooling off period I would cancel your subscription and return the Glass TV.  If you are outside of the 31 day period the TV is yours and you cannot return it.

If your broadband is down and the TV is effectively bricked with no way to choose another network, then you'll need to wait for your broadband to reactivate to continue the software update. 

Alternatively, is there any way you could run a long ethernet cable to a neighbour's router in order to complete the update? This may not work due to Glass having the insanely stupid issue with not defaulting to ethernet when a cable is attached, and WiFi being prioritised, but might be worth a go. 

Turn the TV off at the wall and connect the ethernet cable then power it back on and see if it'll help. If it's still stuck then I would attempt a factory reset (with advice from Sky) using your neighbour's ethernet connection, just to get the TV set up. You should then be able to disconnect the cable and use the HDMI ports. When your broadband is back up and running you'd need to reset the network connection to your own broadband.

Have you reported your BB failure to your ISP?

 

When do they expect to restore your connection to the internet?
