I've just cancelled my sky streaming subscription but now can't get terrestrial tv channels on my sky glass tv. Please help!

I belive the SKY Glass TVs only let you use the Freeview Tuner when not connected to the internet - although I don't own one - Others here will be able to confirm

Yes I've turned off the WiFi on the tv and have an aerial connected but still can't access normal tv channels.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Emma0108 You need to remove the Glass TV from your network (i.e. remove the Ethernet cable or disconnect it from yourWiFi) and connect a TV aerial in order to use the freeview.
In about 8 weeks or so you will receive an alternative Glass remote from Sky. If you have not received the remote within that time frame call Sky. There is a picture of the remote on this thread.

@Emma0108 On the screen that says no network connection there are some icons including one with a TV aerial. Click this icon and if nothing appears I think you press the right side of the circular wheel to scan for available programmes. I might be wrong on this last bit as on my Glass when my broadband went down and I used the freeview for a couple of hours the terrestrial channels were already programed into my TV (I don't remember ever doing it).
Good luck 🤞

Thank you. 🤩 I I now have all tv channels! However if I want to stream something on catch up do I have to reconnect the tv to wifi and select the appropriate app each time? I feel like that's a silly question 🤪

If you looked at the picture of the alterntive remote you will see the difference is it has App buttons instead of playlist and the voice buttons.

Ah I didn't see the pic of the new remote. Thank you so much for your help.

To use Apps you have to be connected to the internet.
To use DTT, what many mistakenly call Freeview, Sky Glass does not support Freeview, you must disconnect from the internet.
This is an unnecessary inconvenience Sky deliberately built into Sky Glass.

I have a netgem box plugged into one of my hdmi sockets in case of the rare occasion the internet connection drops out

Ok so you don't have sky streaming either. Sorry I'm being dumb, I really struggle to understand these things. So if I get a Freeview box/receiver/recorder I would be able to access terresstriel tv channels plus all the apps such as itvx and iplayer without having to keep disconnecting from the wifi to watch tv and then reconnect to watch something on catch up?

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreYeah that will work, so you can keep the Sky Glass connected via WiFi so you can use all the on-demand apps, and then use the freeview box ( this will plug into your normal arieal) to watch the digital terrestial channels. You will be able to connect the freeview box via an HDMI cable to the Sky Glass TV.

Ok cool. So the Freeview box connects to the aerial socket in the wall and then to the sky glass tv with the HDMI?
